The client / the challenge

QSNTS are an organisation that assists Traditional Owners in pursuing and exercising their native title rights and advocates for reform in the native title system. They came to us seeking a new logo, website and more to help them appear more professional. QSNTS were being reported on in the news and it was clear their old logo wasn’t representing them well. The organisation had grown significantly and wanted to appear reliable and skilled to appeal to not only prospective clients but also government organisations, advisory bodies, lawyers associated with native title cases and their own staff. And they wanted to look great on the news as well.

Our strategic solution

Our strategic solution was to design a powerful logo that simultaneously communicated the connection to country and good intentions of the organisation while also fitting well in government, legal and corporate spheres. We designed printed collateral and annual reports for QSNTS as well as designing and building a custom website to make order from chaos (find out more about the QSNTS website here). Our strategy for QSNTS’ rebrand was to, at every stage, ensure our design communicated:
(i) the organisation’s good heart and mission and
(ii) their skill, professionalism and credibility.

But we also made sure everything we designed was visually pleasing and eye catching to ensure QSNTS would stand out, be heard and continue to grow.

The powerful and eye-catching logo for QSNTS walks the fine line between “earthy” and “corporate”.

The logo includes a minimal marque in two colours divided by a thin white line that represents a boundary: a nod to the outcomes QSNTS helps secure for Traditional Owners.

The brown and blue can be interpreted as earth and sky (or earth and water), signifying their clients’ connection to country.

Along with the distinctive logo marque, we used a condensed typeface to give the letters a tall proportion that is not only pleasing but also helps indicate that QSNTS had stepped up their game to become a large organisation.

The lettering imparts the values: corporate, clean and professional.

We’ve been working with QSNTS for over a decade, supporting them with business cards, letterheads, with compliments slips, annual reports and their website to ensure they appear professional, skilled and credible across every piece of collateral.

We initially designed the logo, website and collateral for QSNTS more than 10 years ago with the aim of creating a design that will last.

We eschew trends and design custom logos for this very reason: the QSNTS logo and website still look contemporary today.
