The client / the challenge

QSNTS are an organisation that assists Traditional Owners in pursuing and exercising their native title rights and advocates for reform in the native title system. They came to us seeking a new website and more to communicate a huge bulk of information to a diverse audience. The organisation had grown significantly and wanted to appear reliable and skilled and be able to communicate well via their website to prospective clients and government organisations, advisory bodies, lawyers associated with native title cases and their own staff.

Our strategic solution

Our strategic solution was to design and build a custom-coded website to make order from chaos: the website needed to house an enormous amount of ever-evolving information while ensuring it could all be easily accessed by people from all walks of life. We also designed a powerful logo that simultaneously communicated the connection to country and good intentions of the organisation while also fitting well in government, legal and corporate spheres (see more about the QSNTS logo here).

Our strategy for QSNTS’ rebrand was, at every stage, to ensure our design communicated:
(i) the organisation’s good heart and mission and
(ii) their skill, professionalism and credibility.

But we also made sure everything we designed was visually pleasing and eye catching to ensure QSNTS would stand out, be heard and continue to grow.

We built QSNTS a website that was custom-coded and designed with a logic that included an easy-to-follow system to organise all the different types of information it housed – from information on native title, public notices, media releases, publications and more – to make each document easy to find.

Despite the bulk of information the site needed to house, we designed the website to be simple to navigate by a broad variety of users including Traditional Owners, lawyers and government employees.

Our web developer coded a custom CMS to allow QSNTS to update and manage their website and all the documents they needed to upload and archive incredibly efficiently.

We ensured the design made the organisation recognisably credible, but we also made sure the site was visually appealing.

We communicated the heart and connection to country of the organisation via full-colour images that represent the different terrains the organisation works in to secure native title, from coastal desert to forest.

We initially designed the logo, website and collateral for QSNTS more than 10 years ago with the aim of creating a design that will last.

We eschew trends and design custom logos for this very reason: the QSNTS logo and website still look contemporary today.
